Solar Heating Pools is the New Way to Go

Solar heating pools have become one of the hottest new ways to make your afternoon swim comfortable and relaxing. Even better than that is the fact that unlike their home system cousins, solar pool heating is both inexpensive up front and cost saving down the road. Well, there are options. You can go for more expensive options, such as utilizing solar panels on your roof and a system that will take the UV rays from there and transfer them to the pool. Of course, this isn’t that expensive if you already have the solar panels on your roof, but it’s still not the most inexpensive option, and frankly, it’s not the most effective, either. So why not save money here, allowing you to spend more on your house? Also, consider that you won’t be able to use your pool year round (unless you live in certain areas), while you do use your house every day.

There are several different ways you can go about heating the water, and they basically all just hinge on one thing. Which option do you think looks better? That’s right, aesthetics is pretty much the only important factor, considering how low the cost involved is. There are solar pool covers and solar rings. The beauty of both these extremely inexpensive options is the DIY factor. These are both extremely easy to “install” considering all you have to do is place them on your pool (they’re also available to keep spas warm).

Everyone is family with pool covers, so the only difference to know about is the special material present that helps absorb UV rays and transfer them to the water. Believe it or not, this material was not present in the older pool covers. The other option is solar rings, which are circular devices that hook together to fit any pool. They also have a very innovative material that absorbs as much sunlight and transfers it to the water. Many people like this option because of the safety feature – that is, they easily break apart (meaning they unhook) if someone is to accidentally fall in. This is not the case for covers, unfortunately, so you need to be extra careful to supervise any children in the area.
