Solar Power for Home is the Way to Go
After all the research that’s been done, solar power for home has become quite realistic for a lot of people to have. This is due in part to a lot of the government rebate and financing out there (they are really trying to encourage people to be energy efficient), as well as companies trying hard to break into the market and get your business.
There are many ways to get started. The most obvious, of course, is to look into starter kits. These complete systems usually come with everything you need to convert your house from electricity wasting to electric saving. A lot of manufacturers selling these kits will try to give you all the information to either do it yourself or have someone else install it. In fact, there are a lot of diy kits in the residential market. What is the cost of some of these kits? Unfortunately, the initial price tag is not cheap, but you have to factor in how much savings you will be making down the road. Considering that the average solar panel and light kit costs from $15,000 to $25,000, you need to be ready for such a purchase. However, with government rebates, the amount of money you’ll save in the long run (typically, they pay for themselves in 7-8 years) and the good you’re doing for the environment make it all worth it.
What about the other components? Many people are interested in solar roof shingles, as well as wind generator units. These are also excellent ways to conserve power. The shingles, though, are ideal for those that are put off by the look of large solar cells cluttering up the roof. No one has information about whether or not these will last as long as the panels, though, due to the fact that they haven’t been around very long. They can be more expensive, too, because they have all the technology somehow crammed into much tinier space.
So you should seriously looking into powering your home the solar way. You’ll save money, help the earth, and keep up with the times. Eventually, all things will be solar powered until a more efficient way emerges. It’s up to you whether you’ll lead or follow.
